RS PRO 5.5 kW DOL Starter, 400 V AC, 3 Phase, IP65
The 5.5 kW automatic 3-phase starter is a direct-on-line (DOL) motor starter used to reduce the current required when starting up induction motors. Such starters are particularly handy for use with induction motors rated below 5 hp.
It can be helpful to fit motor starters with an overload protection device to prevent short circuits or overheating. This model doesn't include one, so you would need to select one from the RF38 series – for example, stock no. 685-130 – to match the full-load current of your motor.
This DOL starter from our trusted RS PRO brand has a moulded plastic case that provides IP65 ingress protection. That means it's an effective shield against dust and high-pressure water jets from any direction.
