Product Details

RS PRO IPM3005 Flexible Power Quality Analyser

RS PRO IPM3005 is a great value balanced 3 phase and single phase 3000 A power quality analyser with flexible 3000 A probe and data logging functions. This instrument is designed for measuring and diagnosing power problems in electrical installations and power circuits.
Problems that can occur due to power quality problems include automatic resets, data errors, equipment failures, memory loss and overheating electrical distribution systems. These problems in workplaces have a negative impact on production, can damage sensitive equipment and increase costs. Bad power quality can also increase energy consumption. An optically isolated USB lead and analysis software enable readings to be displayed and/or downloaded for analysis on a PC or laptop.

Features and Benefits

  • True RMS measurement of Vac and Iac

  • Active power measurement (W, kW, HP)

  • Reactive power measurement (VAR, kVAR)

  • Apparent power measurement (VA, kVA)

  • Power factor (PF) and phase angle (Ø) measurements

  • Energy calculation (WH and kWH)

  • Measures balanced 3Ø power and sequence

  • Non-interrupted harmonic analysis (V and A) to the 50th order in % and magnitude

  • Dual display with fast Peak Hold, Max and Min functions

  • Selectable CT ratios from 1 to 1000

  • Data logging to internal memory for up to 8000 readings with programmable logging interval

  • Selectable Auto power-off up to 30 minutes

Typical Applications

Power quality analysers are multi-function instruments that measure and test various things such as direct current, alternating current, AC-voltage, DC-voltage, harmonics and much more depending on the model. The data can then be logged and analysed with the software supplied with the device. Applications include:

  • Electrical installations

  • Power circuits

FAQs

What is meant by power quality problems?

Power quality refers to the ability of electrical equipment to consume the energy being supplied to it in other words to provide stable power. There can be various power quality issues and the most common include electrical harmonics, poor power factor, voltage instability and imbalance impact on the efficiency of electrical equipment.
